Previously Andersonville was a Swedish neighborhood. However, it later became more diverse as different people moved it. Although with lots of different people coming to the neighborhood, Andersonville still salutes its Swedish ancestry. They have a horse painted with Swedish decorations on it. The neighborhood also has a very popular bakery: The Swedish Bakery. Every summer they would also have a festival called Midsommarfest, which is a Swedish festival.

Andersonville is full of little restaurants and boutiques. All the restaurants serve different types of foods. Andersonville has Middle Eastern food, Italian food and Swedish foods all in one block. Also filling up the block are little boutiques that are privatly owned also there are gyms, convient shops, furntiure store and many other types of shops. The restaurants and shops are also not big national franchises; instead, they are mostly famous within Chicago or just within the neighborhood.

Yet, off Clark Street there are apartments and duplexes full of young people; or even single family homes with young families living in it. Having this variation in a neighborhood is essential to show the diversity of the neighborhood. Although this neighborhood seems to be the main social scene for young Chicagoian, especially in the warm summer day, since its right by the beach, it can also be a great neighborhood to live in.

In spit of Andersonville being mostly a single neighborhood, the Reza is a very popular family restaurant. With huge windows you are able to see the outside scenery while dining. Its right next to a another popular Italian eatery, Monticello’s. The outside or Reza’s isn’t too fancy nor dull which perfectly deflects Andersonville’s neighborhhod. A casual social networking place.

In modern and lofty decor of Reza’s also is verstille, it is family freindly by having big table seating, while many young couples or young groups of friend can still go there and dine. Also having a bar at Reza’s proves how much of a social scene Andersonville really is.The modern decor at the resturant salutes to Andersonville’s edgy and youthful neighborhood. The unqiue art that is displayed throughout the resturant, also represnts Andersonville’s artsy and diverse residents.

The Edgewater beach apartment is a huge structure that used to be a hotel for famous people such as: Frank Sinatra Marylin Monroe, Charlie Chaplin and many others. The Edgewater Hotel’s foyer has been preserved still to this day, in the apartment. There are now glass cases in the main lobby area showcasing the different postcards, former pictures and articles that has to do with the hotel.

The distinct pink color of the building helps the building be very visible. At the bottom of the apartments they have little stores like: a cafe, gift shop, flower shop and many other little stores. Decades later the apartment is still part of the main social scene in Chicago. It is convientaly located by the beach and by the busy streets of Hollywood. Mostly singles or elders live in the building. Having singles live there add to the social scene.

Obviously, Chicago has a lot more to offer than the already famous landmarks such as Sears Tower, Millennium park and the magnificent mile. There is another side to Chicago that is a social scene without the outrageous downtown prices.You can go to Andersonville/ Edgewater to get the feel of Chicago. Andersonville/Edgewater has been able to be part of the social scene for decades! The area has the second highest population density of any neighborhood in the city. It is an ethnically, economically, and ideologically diverse community that has many diiferent stores, restaurants and boutiques, yet maintains a very suburban feel. A very popular resturant in the Chicago land area. located in Andersonville is Reza’s Resturant . A Middle Easteren, serves great, huge portioned food with a very beautiful and modern decor. Also, a very important landmark in Edgewater, is the Edgewater Beach Apartment Complex. Andersonville/ Edgewater is rich in their history and what in they to offer Chicago’s social scene.

CONCLUSION
Andersonville/Edgewater are a must visit place in Chicago if you want to experience the social scene in Chicago. With many different things you can do; you get to chose from a number if different resturants, tons of little boutiques to shop at and plenty of bars and clubs to spend the nights out. But, don’t forget Edgewater is conviently located by the beach so for those hot summer days in Chicago, can be spent on the beautiful Lake Michigan beach. With all this to chose from what more would you want from a neighborhood in Chicago? Not only has it been a social scene for decades Andersonville/Edgewater is also family friendly. It is a small community within a large city.
